65,000-square-foot production
plant in San Jose. The new facility
will begin making frozen pizzas by
January 2021.
Benestar Brands, Dallas, a portfolio company of private investment firm Highlander Partners,
LP, has acquired Miller Baking
Co., Milwaukee, manufacturer of
Pretzilla branded products.
Hearthside Food Solutions,
Downers Grove, Ill., said it will
invest $13.6 million to expand
its facility in Michigan City, Ind.
Hearthside said it will install a
processing and packaging line.
The expansion also will include
additional processing and packaging equipment and bring an additional 50 jobs to the plant.

America, Parsippany, N.J.

Mars, Inc., McLean, Va., has entered into an agreement to acquire
Kind North America, New York.

Brioche bread baker St. Pierre Groupe, New York, added to its United States team
and board of directors with the appointments of Jen Darby and David Wagstaff.
Ms. Danby was named international marketing director. Mr. Wagstaff was named
United States commercial director.

Pandya Restaurant Growth
Brands, Dallas, a subsidiary of
the Rohan Group of Companies,
acquired Corner Bakery Café,
Washington, D.C., from Roark
Capital Partners.

The American Bakers Association has named five new members to its board of
directors. The new members include: Trina Bediako, chief executive officer of New
Horizons Baking Co.; Chuck Metzger, chief executive officer of Hearthside Foods
Solutions; Tim Smith, vice president and general manager of snacking at TreeHouse
Foods, Inc.; George Vindiola, vice president of research and development at
Campbell Snacks; and Tyson Yu, chief executive officer of Aryzta North America.

AAK, Karlshamn, Sweden, plans
to establish a plant-based Foods
Global Center of Excellence in
Zaandijk, The Netherlands. The
three-story center will include two
pilot plants, an analytical laboratory, a customer experience kitchen
and a sensory suite.

Ben De Schryver, currently president of Asia Pacific for the Barry Callebaut Group,
Zurich, was picked to be chief financial officer, effective Jan. 1, by the company.
BluePrint Automation, South Chesterfield, Va., named Leswin Canales sales manager for South America.
Reading Bakery Systems, Robesonia, Pa., promoted Kyle Sensenig to project manager.
Victoria Spadaro Grant was named president of innovation and commercial development at Tate & Lyle, London.
