enhancing market awareness across both events. 
"IBIE and  iba  have been supportive allies for many
years, with similar missions to help advance the global
grain-based food industry," Mr.  Turano said. "We frequently met to discuss collective challenges and opportunities and decided we should be collaborating more
effectively.  We're very excited to be working together
and looking forward to seeing the positive outcomes
from our partnership." 
Education was at the forefront of the 2019 Expo,
and Mr. Turano attributed much of the increase in
baker attendance to the enhanced educational offerings
of IBIEducate. For the first time in its history, IBIE dedicated an entire day to education before the show floor
opened. The day included more than 100 classes - the
largest lineup to date - which explored a wide variety
of challenges impacting bakers from every segment of
the industry. The decision to focus on IBIEducate paid
off, according to Mr. Turano.  
"I believe the increase in baker attendance speaks to
the value of IBIE. It's an exciting time for innovation in

our industry, and IBIE brings innovative ideas to the
forefront," Mr. Turano said. "We placed a great amount
of effort, research and emphasis into presenting the education offerings that matter most to our attendee-base,
and IBIEducate was a huge success. 
"I now believe that bakers globally understand that
IBIE is more than researching equipment, ingredients
and processes," he added. "IBIE has become an education leader for the entire baking industry."  
The 2019 IBIE vice-chairman, and 2022 chairman
Dennis Gunnell, vice-president sales and marketing, Formost Fuji, agreed.
"IBIEducate was hugely successful and exceeded our
projections," Mr. Gunnell said. "With a full day of education, there's less pressure to get everything done and still
walk the show floor. It also allowed us to repeat some of
the more popular sessions and allowed bakers to bring
more team members for advanced training." 
In addition to the successful  IBIEducate  programming, show-goers also had the chance to get up close and
personal with more equipment, technology and products.
