Cracker snack pack
Simple Mills, Chicago, debuted Fine Ground Sea Salt Almond Flour Cracker
Snack Pack, a product that is vegan- and paleo-friendly and contains no gluten,
soy, corn, dairy, GMOs, gums, emulsifiers or artificial flavors. Delivering 2 g
protein, less than 1 g sugar and vitamin E, the crackers are made with eight
ingredients: a nut and seed flour blend, tapioca starch, cassava flour, sunflower
oil, sea salt, onion, garlic and rosemary extract. The pack includes six single-serve
bags and has a suggested retail price of $5.99.
Organic corn chips
Four Organic Corn Chip flavors from RW Garcia, Scotts Valley, CA, were
launched as USDA-certified, non-GMO, gluten- and preservative-free snacks.
Yellow Corn Chips and Blue Corn Chips are for purist-seeking consumers. Its
Bar-B-Q Corn Chips provide a grilled taste, and Chili Cheese Corn Chips create
the Philly experience, according to the company. These low-sugar or no-addedsugar chips have a $4.49 suggested retail price and are available in 8.25 oz bags.
RTE ring cakes
Ready-to-eat bakery brand Café Valley, Phoenix, expanded its ring cake line with
four specialty cakes: Celebration is drizzled in white glaze frosting and decorated
with rainbow sprinkles; Pink Lemonade mimics the well-known drink; Key Lime
offers a combination of fresh and tart citrus and sweet batter; and Salted Caramel
is topped with sweet, buttery caramel and white chocolate chips. Each cake is
26 oz with a suggested retail price of $5.99.
Shelf-stable meat chips
From Land O'Frost, Inc., Lansing, IL, Gone Rogue High Protein Chips are
crispy, shelf-stable meat snacks with 17 to 18 g protein per serving. Made with a
proprietary process, the chip varieties include Teriyaki Chicken, Chicken Bacon,
Honey Mustard Ham, Buffalo Style Chicken, Applewood Smoked Ham and BBQ
Flavored Chicken. The snacks come in 1-oz bags that contain 30 to 35 chips.
Baked protein chips
Quest Nutrition, El Segundo, CA, introduced Tortilla Style Protein Chips as a
response to the increasing consumer preference for salty snacks. The baked chips
come in two popular flavors - Ranch and Nacho Cheese - and include 18 to
19 g protein, 4 g net carbs and less than 1 g sugar.
