SNAXPO18, held March 12-14 in Atlanta, brought together
more than 1,350 leading snack industry professionals from
38 countries. The biennial full equipment show was a tremendous success, according to Elizabeth Avery, president and
CEO, SNAC International.
"The exhibit floor was truly one-stop shopping, featuring
every possible product or service sought by the evolving snack
category," Ms. Avery said. "With our new investments in education, we made sure SNAXPO18 attendees also left with deep
technical, marketing and leadership insights."
The show featured 160 exhibitors showcasing the latest innovations in ingredients, processing equipment, packaging
supplies, quality control technologies and more.
Other show highlights included two keynote speakers: Jonah
Berger, PhD, professor at the Wharton School at the University
of Pennsylvania, and former SEAL Team Six Leader Rob O'Neill.
Dr. Berger discussed the power of social influence on marketing,
and Mr. O'Neill shared lessons in perseverance, teamwork and
quick decision-making from his many combat missions.
SNAC International and Baking & Snack launched the
SNAXPO Innovations Hub, featuring 10 of the most recent innovations in snack processing equipment and ingredients.
Sally Lyons Wyatt, executive vice-president at IRI, a
Chicago-based research firm, provided insights into new
and emerging snacks, and Jared Koerten, senior analyst at
Euromonitor International, discussed the global snack industry. SNAC International General Counsel Martin Hahn with
Hogan Lovells gave an update on regulatory impacts from
Washington DC. And finally, a Latin American education program, which included the latest snacking trends from Costa
Rica, Central America and South America, provided even
more international value for attendees.
SNAXPO will return to Orlando next year, March 31 to April 2.
