ARYZTA to focus on frozen baked foods ARYZTA, Zurich, Switzerland, will focus on pricing changes and its core B2B frozen foods business as it continues to dispose of non-core businesses, company executives said recently. The company agreed to sell its 50% interest in Signature Flatbreads, Dunstable, UK, to its joint venture partners. Signature Flatbreads produces Indian breads, flatbreads, tortillas, pizza bases and pitas in India and the UK. The transaction, which is expected to be completed in the third quarter of the fiscal year, is consistent with ARYZTA's strategy to focus on its frozen B2B bakery operations and exit non-core businesses. ARYZTA addressed problems with Cloverhill Bakery, Chicago, earlier this year. Hostess Brands, Kansas City, MO, agreed to buy a Cloverhill facility in Chicago, and Bimbo Bakeries USA agreed to buy a Cloverhill facility in Cicero, IL. Also, earlier this year, Dave Johnson became CEO of ARYZTA North America. He most recently was president and CEO of North America for Barry Callebaut, Zurich, Switzerland. -Jeff Gelski, Milling & Baking News ADM realigns to better reflect operating structure Archer Daniels Midland Co.
